As a female entrepreneur, your mindset matters

As a female entrepreneur or business owner, your mindset matters.

I recently posted in a Facebook Group asking women business owners the biggest hurdle they faced when launching or pivoting their business.

The answer that jumped out at me was this:

“My own self-doubt. Others believed in me. But it took time before I believed in me.”

And there were other answers in a similar vein, so I wanted to unpack this today.

Because, in the words of Henry Ford:

“Whether you think you can or think you can’t, you’re right.”

He should know.

And we need to be reminded of what we should know, in business and in life.

To live this way, day in and day out, your most helpful tools are mindfulness and awareness.

Here are three questions to consider to begin using them:

✨ Are you able to realize when your mindset is not what it needs to be?

✨ Can you sense when your mind is not your friend?

✨ Can you take up the role of observer to create some distance between your mind and who you are at your core?

Your ability to adopt this position / take this approach is key.

It allows you to:

✨ Not get swept away in the thoughts and emotions that have shown up

✨ Gain some distance and thus much-needed perspective

✨ Assess what your thoughts and emotions are trying to tell you

✨ From this vantage point, decide what to do with this information

✨ Act in alignment with what you’ve learned

Over time, the result of this practice is that you move into the driver’s seat of your life.

Your mind helps you get to your destination, but you’re the one deciding where it is you want to go.

Perhaps this was something you needed to hear today.
